Hi everyone My name is Julie I was diagnosed in 2000 aged 44 but have only recently found you are all out there! My RA took about 2 years to become manageable and most of the time these days I am coping well on a diet of methotrexate Which sadly doesn't mean I am without problems! I am married with a grown up son and two beautiful grandsons aged 4 & 7. Good to know you are all there

Hi Julie, and welcome - I`m pleased you found us! I was diagnosed in Jan 2006, and had a very difficult first 18 months before the RA was under any degree of control. I`m currently taking humira, along with various other meds. I have two grown-up sons, and two gorgeous grandsons aged 8 and 6. Keep posting, Kathleen x

hi Julie,
and a welcome from me too,
i was diagnosed 3 and half years ago and felt like i'd been hit with a sledge hammer. it took about 18 months to get the right meds, and am now on Anti-TFN Humira for two years which is my magic potion.
do keep posting so that we can get to know you, there's always someone here to help or listen.

Hi Julie
Pleased to meet you in this very exclusive club. I was diagnosed in March this year and am still coming to terms with it. I am on metho + hydroxyl too and have two wee boys of 7 and 10 who are the lights of my life.
Speak to you again soon.
Lisa xx

hi Lisa
Hope you have had an ok day. I know it's hard coming to terms with RA-I really struggled with it for a long time! I used to argue with myself when it came to taking my methotrexate trying to tell myself that I didn't have the blessed disease!
Take care , Julie x

Hi Jewel Welcome to the club! I'm Sue. I'm 61 and was diagnosed in 2009. I' m one of the lucky ones as I manage on a low dose of mtx and hydroxy most of the time, although I am just coming out of a flare at the moment. IM a teacher, fortunately a learning support specialist so I only teach one to one, I don't think I have the stamina for class teaching any more. this site was a real support in the early days when it was all new and scary. Keep posting Sue
